10th graders launch into the field via an Expedition Kick Off at Bowman Lake. Students learn about the creation and collapse of societies and leadership structures. The PolliNation Expedition brings bee experts into the classroom and students into the field to see a bee lab and pollinator garden in action along with a local college tour. Fieldwork ramps up dramatically as 10th graders are then asked to Survive and Thrive in the Spring on winter camping before applying to be considered for fieldwork in partnership with the Prescott College adventure program. Students then either climb/backpack/raft in Arizona or tackle a local backpacking opportunity along the Yuba River.
