11th graders engage in fieldwork to learn more about local and relevant issues with changemakers who are using their voices and power to create or preserve the local community. The Voices of Change Expedition allows students to delve into who and how change can be made while they experience a local place (The Tahoe Basin and Squaw in particular) and meet local experts. NPR is visited and analyzed as a local media organization that uses its voice for change while simultaneously visiting Sac State and engaging with more college exploration on this fieldwork experience. Spring opportunities are in development as Expedition focus, student interest, and local expertise are considered.
